Yes, that is a handset plugged into an iPhone. If what you’re thinking is that only imbeciles would make, sell, or buy such a thing, you would be right.

My Life As A White Trash Zombie

Living with her alcoholic deadbeat dad in the swamps of southern Louisiana, she’s a high school dropout with a pill habit and a criminal record who’s been fired from more crap jobs than she can count. Now on probation for a felony, it seems that Angel will never pull herself out of the downward spiral her life has taken.
I know right. Bring the skepticism. I wasn’t so interested until I read the 4.0/5 rating on Goodreads (my most visited website, besides tumblr) and then once I got ahold of it I couldn’t put it down. The writing is what carries the thing. I’ve read all types of stupid stories with a crazy premise that didn’t hold up under Nicholas Sparks-type writing. By that I mean rudimentary, basic bitch sixth grade sentences (somewhat like my blog posts). None of that. This is YA that reads well.
One of my favorite things about this book is that it’s set in the South, but doesn’t go all Hart of Dixie and throw in terms nobody ever actually uses like, “Footloose and fancy free” or “By golly”. I went to high school for two years in Mississippi and I heard a few Well hug your necks and You gon pull back a nubs, but believe me: the South is nothing like they put on CW. So if you’re looking for a non-patronizing, funny, and sometimes scary story about zombies in the American South then go watch The Walking Dead. And read this book.

I graduated!
As of December 27 2011 I am now an alumnus of the FCI. I planned to stay in DC but it’s slow season (barely any hiring) right now so I’m back home in Mississippi hanging out with my mom and scouring craigslist.
On a higher note the gif limit has been upped to 1MB! Downside: Left my laptop charger at my dad’s in DC. So no new gifs until I figure that situation out. Sorry.
